About Me

Oladayo Folasire Portfolio

Assistant professor Oladayo Folasire

About Me – I am an educator, researcher, and data analyst interested in how technology — particularly AI — is shaping learning, decision-making, and student engagement. My work sits at the intersection of education, data, and emerging digital tools, with a focus on helping students become more reflective, confident, and independent learners.

Over time, I’ve developed experience across teaching, research, mentoring, and applied data analysis. I enjoy translating complex ideas into practical insights that educators and students can use to improve learning outcomes. I am especially interested in how evidence-informed approaches and student voice can guide the integration of AI into education in meaningful and responsible ways.

Alongside my academic and research interests, I work with data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, and visualization platforms like Tableau, using them to explore patterns, communicate findings, and support decision-making. I also share projects and experiments through platforms like GitHub and Kaggle, where I continue building practical data science experience.

Mentoring is another important part of my work. I support students — including postgraduate researchers — in developing confidence in their thinking, research processes, and analytical skills. I believe learning is most powerful when students feel ownership of their ideas and curiosity.

The Own Your Learning project brings these interests together. It serves as a space to explore how students interact with AI-supported learning environments, how their choices reveal thinking processes, and how educators can respond thoughtfully to these changes.

More broadly, I am motivated by a simple idea:
technology should support thinking, not replace it.
